Student Jazz Workshop At Moore Street School

On April 25 The Moore Street School Foundation along with Maggie L. Walker Governor's School hosted a Student Jazz Workshop featuring the acclaimed Quentin Walston Trio. This enriching experience was made possible through generous support from the Virginia Commission for the Arts.

The workshop brought together an impressive cohort of young musicians, including the Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School Intermediate and Advanced Jazz Bands, Moody Middle School Jazz Band, and New Kent High School Jazz Band. Students had the opportunity to perform, receive constructive feedback, and engage directly with professional artists—an invaluable experience that deepens both skill and passion.

This workshop reflects the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to cultivating the next generation of jazz musicians through its “Bet on Jazz” initiative.
