The Central Virginia Waste Management Authority first Recycling Fair held on October 18 on Richmond’s Northside was a huge success.
Three tractor-trailer loads of old electronics and four tons of paper were collected for recycling and shredding. In addition, three large bins of used clothing were donated to Goodwill.
“More than 750 vehicles came through the drop-off line during the five-hour event,” says Julie Buchanan, CVWMA spokesperson. “A dozen local organizations also participated by sharing information about environmentally friendly programs and lifestyles.”
