The Branch's Haunted Open House

10.2025

On October 16, just as the last rays of sunlight drained out of the world, hundreds of costumed visitors wandered the cavernous halls of the Branch Museum for its annual Halloween Open House. Local artists and vendors sold their wares, Haunts of Richmond conducted ghost tours and told ghost stories, refreshments were served, and eerie music filtered through the air of this architectural marvel on Monument Avenue that rivals the House of Usher.

It all culminated in a costume contest. Top prize went to a young girl dressed as Elvis Presley, who's been a fan of America’s only legitimate King since she was a toddler. Other winners include the Corpse Bride couple were actually married at The Branch a year ago.
