The Great Pumpkin Patch Benefits Local Refugees

10.2024

Ginter Park United Methodist Church, located at the corner of Laburnum and Seminary Avenue, is home to the Great Pumpkin Patch through Halloween. This ongoing event will feature story time with the Richmond Fire Department, movie night, campfire & chili, harvest market, cultural diversity day, and other fun and free events for the whole family.

For the 14 years the Great Pumpkin Patch has been held in support of local community ministries. This year, all proceeds will directly benefit two young refugee families from Afghanistan who live in our community.

The Great Pumpkin Patch is open Monday-Friday, 11am-6pm; Saturday, 9am-7pm; and Sunday, 12pm-6pm.

For added convenience, pumpkins can also be ordered online through the church’s website, or by calling the Pumpkin Hotline during church office hours. New this year is the optional Pumpkin Delivery Service: For a small fee, customers can have their pumpkins delivered by church volunteers to their doorstep, if their address is located within a two-mile radius.

All pumpkins at the Great Pumpkin Patch are non-GMO and sourced from a farming location within the  Navajo Nation in Farmington (New Mexico), where sustainable agricultural practices are exercised to reduce impact on the environment.
